Some frequently asked questions…
Is my house suitable for projection mapping?
Lighter colored houses are most suitable for projection mapping. Darker homes absorb light and tend to dim the projection. You’ll need a certain amount of space in your front yard depending on the size of your home and your yard should be free of obstructions.
What does the installation process involve?
After you place your order, our team will virtually verify that your home is suitable for a Lumenex projection system. Once verified, our partners from Julie will automatically come to mark underground lines so our team can safely install a small circular concrete pad the size of a sprinkler head flush to the surface of your front yard. This gives the system a stable, theft-resistant mount and ensures precise alignment from holiday to holiday. Once your rental period is over, our team will retrieve the projection system and conceal the concrete pad with a green plastic cover.
Can I project my own design?
At the moment, only Lumenex custom designs are available to project.
How long is a rental period?
Rental periods vary on the holiday(s) you’d like to illuminate. The dates for your rental period are provided on the checkout page.
How do I select the designs I would like projected on my house?
Once a Lumenex projection system is installed, you’ll have the option to preview the many designs we offer based on the holiday(s) you chose. Upon making your selection, the projection will be activated on your home. You’ll also have the option to change designs if you’d like to display more than one during your rental period.
Can I turn the projection system on or off myself?
Yes, the entire system is remotely controlled via your Lumenex account. You can set the system to turn on and off according to a schedule.
What is the difference between the LX40 and LX60 projection systems?
Our LX60 projection systems feature 6000 lumens of light output and are the Lumenex standard. They project brighter illuminations and provide the optimal visual experience with stunning color and clarity. The LX40 projection systems feature 4000 lumens of light output and offer a dimmer and more affordable alternative to the LX60. These systems should primarily be reserved for homes that are light in color to ensure the projections are fully illuminated.
